How did the song come together?
While working in the studio, I remember messing around with the guitar chords and mumbling melodies. We started coming up with concepts and talking about social media and the effect it can have on you. I feel like it was important to make sure there wasn’t too much production because I love the song...
What is the inspiration behind this track?
“Don’t Got One” was inspired by many things. When writing the song, we talked about the effect social media has on people. Sometimes I spend too much time looking at what others are posting and comparing myself, which you should never do. I was also feeling kind of lost when we started writing this...
What was the process of making the song like?
The process was really fun. I worked with Peter Zizzo, Mike Mangini and Imani Coppola. We started with the chord progression on guitar and began writing verses and came up with this concept of feeling alone and like you “Don’t Got One”. We all felt there was something really special about this song.
