[Verse 1]
Blame it on the gold and on the silver
Blame it on the love I used to give you
Baby, you could never buy no better
Ooh you’re gonna pay for this forever
Try to spend my love and now it’s broken
‘Cause you could never see I was a token
This is who I am, it's time to show it
And now you want me back, you must be jokin'
[Pre-Chorus]
Ooh ‘cause I’m not just a penny you can pick up off the sidewalk
Not just a penny you can pick up off the sidewalk
[Chorus]
I’m a dime, I’m a dime
But I’m not yours
I’m just fine, I’m just fine
Don’t you know, don’t you know
Say goodbye to this dime
Ooh
Had your chance, now I’m gone
And by the time you hear this song
You won’t find me in your wallet
[Verse 2]
Pulled me closer with your wicked magic
You’re getting clearer every moment passing
Told me you were faithful, you were classy
Boy I’m looking back and now I’m laughing
[Pre-Chorus]
Ooh ‘cause I’m not just a penny you can pick up off the sidewalk
Not just a penny you can pick up off the sidewalk
[Chorus]
I’m a dime, I’m a dime
But I’m not yours
I’m just fine, I’m just fine
Don’t you know, don’t you know
Say goodbye to this dime
Ooh
Had your chance, now I’m gone
And by the time you hear this song
You won’t find me in your wallet
[Verse 3]
Spare the excuses, I’m not spare change
Baby, I’ll take this time to invest in me
Spare the apologies, I won’t buy ‘em
Ooh I dare you to find you another dime
[Bridge]
Because I’m not just a penny love
I’m not just a penny you can
I’m not just a penny you can pick up off the sidewalk
Not just a penny love
I’m not just a penny you can
I’m not just a penny you can pick up off the sidewalk
[Chorus]
I’m a dime, I’m a dime
(But I’m not yours)
I’m just fine, I’m just fine
Don’t you know
I’m a dime, I’m a dime
But I’m not yours
I’m just fine, I’m just fine
Say goodbye to this dime
Had your chance now I’m gone
And by the time you hear this song
You won’t find me in your wallet
Dime was written by Jack Met & Ryan Met & Rachel Crow.
Rachel Crow released Dime on Fri May 19 2017.
The artist said this about their vision for the song “I wanted to make an empowering anthem about a term, “dime”, it hasn’t really been viewed as a positive word. Once we realized what we could do, everything flowed so well and made sense.”

It was hard, I’m not gonna lie. I knew I needed to get it right, so I had 3 sessions finishing the song itself and then I wasn’t happy until the 8th version. I’m a perfectionist and I don’t stop until it’s exactly what I want. :)
Dime was co-written by AJR! They are my label mates so the head of our label, Steve Greenberg, called us both and asked if we would be down to collaborate. Obviously,I said yes because they’re insanely talented. In our initial writing session we came up with Dime! It was hard to figure out how to us...
