Yeah I was there for uh, the weekend, uh, for a college conference.

What were you doing down there?

[Ruby]
Um, spoken word and rap. I do that on the side.

Yeah, yeah I perform on the weekends usually.

[Man]
Oh cool, cool. So, uh, where are you from, originally?

[Ruby]
Um, right now I live in San Lorenzo, the East Bay?

[Man]
Okay. But I mean like, before that where are you from?

[Ruby]
Well, before San Lorenzo I was living in Hayward, so...But I've been living in the Bay Area for pretty much my entire life.

[Man]
Yeah, but where's your family from, I guess?

[Ruby]
Mmm. Yeah, my family's from San Lorenzo too.

[Man]
Oh okay, but like--you're not--I mean like...like originally where are you from? Like ethnically, I guess, where are you from?

[Ruby]
Filipino.

[Man]

Yeah.
