Here is an old country game
It is called 'Deedle, Deedle, I Pass'
You take a fair maid through the flowers
And lay her down flat on the grass

Then you grasp with your hand at her ankle
And pull off her shoe and her stocking
You tickle the sole of her foot with your nail
The noise in your ears will be shocking

If the maiden can't stand what you're doing
And thinks your behaviour is crass
You put back her shoe and her stocking
And cry "Deedle, Deedle, I Pass"

You maidens who live in the country
I'll give you a word of advise
If a man says "Come on to the grass"
He'll want to play Deedle, Deedle, I Pass
