[Intro]
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
[Chorus]
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Day drinking just for something to do
You know, I daydream until the late afternoon
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Day drinking just for something to do
You know, I daydream until the late afternoon
And all I ever see inside is you
[Verse 1]
Kaleidoscopic vision
Maybe I should go and fix me some Berocca
'Cause I'm the real top draw
Going topper top, top, 'til I can't speak proper
So do me a favour, say it's over
So I can get busy getting sober
We used to get busy on my sofa
Now I sit on my own like
[Chorus]
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Day drinking just for something to do
You know, I daydream until the late afternoon
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Day drinking just for something to do
You know, I daydream until the late afternoon
And all I ever see inside is you
[Verse 2]
It's disappointing and anticlimactical
You read my messages, but didn't get back at all
But that's the privilege of being beautiful
Dig below the surface like the springtime daffodils
And I've been sipping white lightning
It's very, very frightening
Nothing in my daydreams is ever exciting
But what did I expect from you
Didn't anticipate what a beauty queen could do
[Chorus]
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Day drinking just for something to do
You know, I daydream until the late afternoon
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Day drinking just for something to do
You know, I daydream until the late afternoon
And all I ever see inside is you
[Post-Chorus]
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
[Chorus]
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you
Day drinking just for something to do
You know, I daydream until the late afternoon
And all I ever see inside is you
[Outro]
Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you

An October 2020 DIY Mag article quotes Murray saying:
Like most of us, I’ve spent the whole year sat at home daydreaming about a possible alternate reality. Born out of boredom and idleness, ‘Daydreams’ is as much about getting drunk as it is about falling in and out of love.
I wrote this during lockdown. I think everyone can relate to it. It’s like, ‘Let’s just get drunk and stoned and hopefully it will get slightly less boring but it’s probably still quite boring.’ It’s about missing people as well. I spun it romantically, but it spans across friendships and family.
