The day that I got the idea for “Coffee,” I was actually scrolling through Tumblr, which I do sometimes when I’m just trying to get some creative ideas for songs. I remember seeing something about a coffee cup and something about missing somebody and I always wanted to write a song called “Coffee.”...

This song kind of went through a journey on the production end. I ended up taking the song and stripping it down and making it just me and a guitar, because this song, I wanted to make it fit with the rest of the songs on the album. So, I was like, “Okay, maybe we needed to strip it down”. And then...
Why did you decide to make it the album's opener?
Something about the intro, how it’s just my vocal—there’s a flow to it and makes me feel like I’m floating and I felt like it would be a cool way just to open the album with it.
