There’s something ‘bout a rainbow
That stops me in my tracks
Are better days ahead
Does it mean the storm has passed
Do people on the interstate even notice it at all

There’s something ‘bout that stained glass
And the way sunshine cuts through
Is there a hidden message beyond its violet blue
Sometimes I wonder if I could reach and read it, would it rearrange my point of view

I hear blue jays laughing in the trees
Is that dogwood waving at me
My black top turns to gravel I realize the more I travel
That this more than meets the eye’s misunderstood
