The streetlights are burning
Igniting my bedspread
The asphalt is holding
What cradles the pressure
A worthless investment
I cannot escape it
My jaw is clenching on my teeth
Until my gums bleed in my mouth

A hopeless existence
I cannot display it
Phlegmatic encounters
Won't carry what's after
You bury your fingers
So I can feel safer
Until you jump out from the dirt
And squeeze your hands around my neck
I cannot trust your phrasing when you try to slow my heartrate
Your promises of burning flesh will cause a life of loneliness

Opening my chest unfolding carbon in my hands
And walking further than I could
If I would ever heed your words
Holding on but I'm a vapor
From when you threw me to vipers
Flickering away, I hate it
But it's better than this nightmare
My body loses its flavor
But the bitterness is savored
All the while, I hear the reverb
Of your evil multiplying
Always longing, petrified
You throw your fear like butcher knives
Under your sky, it's hell
Cloudbusting the heavens

The sun is exploding
You say that I'm wretched
But I am just not holy
Fear of losing traction
I can't handle retelling
