[Interviewer]
Can you briefly tell us about your musical journey?
[Jesse Aymon Dettwiler]
Sure. So it all started when my parents sent me to a music school when I was six years old. I grew up having to go there during all my childhood, and that was my first taste of music. But unfortunately, I really hated it. And then, during my teenage years, I developed an addiction to video games, and because of all the problems I had because of that, I decided one day to quit for good. And so, suddenly, I had to look for something to replace the addiction and that’s when I rediscovered music. That was in May 2013. I started recording music, started composing, under the name of 'Schildhorn' in reference to a Swiss mountain. I really liked it, I mean, you cannot believe how much I love creating music. It’s like I’m in the zone and nothing else matters. And unlike video games, it gave me the feeling of building something real, something that lasts way more than levels or experiences in video games, right? Like, you turn your computer off and it’s like ‘Oh shoot, I wasted hours of my life on like, nothing at all.’ And so when I was 16, I changed my plans, putting music as my new priority for my future. And because I knew that it was not possible to live off my music, I mean the chances are extremely low, I set myself the goal of one day becoming an audio engineer or a sound designer. And so from there, I produced a lot of music in many different musical genres to improve my CV. Like, for example, I composed folk music, hip-hop, reggae, electro house, future bass, opera, ambiance, lots of different stuff. Then, in November 2018, I noticed that people started to be interested in what I was doing with all the music I’ve put out on Bandcamp, and so I had a switch. I realized the necessity of making music that I would like and love and feel passionate about and not just music that is good on paper for an audio engineer. It’s like I was tired of not having an identity and I finally decided to gather the styles that I like most into one under the name of C4C. And from there, God started to open the gates

What does C4C stand for?
[Jesse Aymon Dettwiler]
C4C stands for ‘Creations for Christ’. I’m Christian, and Jesus Christ holds a very important place in my life. He made me a new man and I want to use the passion He gave me to return the favour for all the things He has done for me. He accepted me as I am with all my mistakes, He gave me the greatest gift of all, which is forgiveness, and yeah, here I am, born again. When at night, I suddenly have a melody, or an idea, I mean, I can only thank God. And yeah, that’s why I wish that the music of C4C points to Him and I pray that it can give some peace of mind to the listener and can somehow make someone’s day a little bit better. Yeah, yeah that’s it!
