Bright Flashes

There were bright flashes the day you were born
And your mother's hair was brown
All of the doctors pronounced you a dead man
And they told her what to prepare for
Somewhere far from you at the center of earth
The science that made you awoke

The gods in the sky draped in cloth made of clover
Amused by the cliffs of your plights
Sent down a goddess with hair black as night
