Lord, I'm laying down this life of contradictions
All the Sunday resolutions
And the Monday rationales
'Cause my righteousness is filthy rags and fiction
When I'm talking love and charity
And living something else

The idle talk I spread is really gossip
And the thing I call discernment
Is just judgement in disguise
And I keep myself so busy being busy
That I'm looking past the wounded people
