Perhaps, you might be askin’
What is it like to be a man? and I don’t mind downright fill you in
That, despite I might strike you as someone mortifying and fragile
But we’ve been programmed to suppress all emotions that we’ve felt
That we felt not filling anyone in
You’re expected to put up with disrespect and if you put up a barrier, they’ll tear it up in seconds
Hence, you left always in shambles
When you open up, It’ll end up in a falling-out
They won’t follow what’s fallin’ out right of your mouth
‘Stead of brightenin’ you up, they’ll put you down
So, bottle it all up
Because nobody seem to give the smallest f**k
You’re hot tempered
But accept the fact that you must have success for them to give a damn
It’s a heavy thing to swallow and grasp, I know
I’m guessin’ that’s where “to capture a lightning in a bottle” came from
They’ll find ways criticize and make you look awful
All just like that, despite you bend over backwards for them
They’ll still bend and distort that and this stories about you
So that you’ll atone and say sorry for faults that aren’t even yours, God!
