“Be Right Now” is the 14th and final release from Ed Sheeran’s fourth solo studio album, = Equals.
This song is intentionally the last of the album, and is intended as a closing track to ease you out.
[Verse 1]
A lifetime is startin' to feel like
It's fallin' short of the mark
But it's all that we got
Every teardrop, every wrong turn
Made the moment we found
And it's comin' around, around, around, around, around
[Chorus]
I don't wanna miss one thing
We can turn the whole world down
And listen to the in-between
We are, we are the sound
There's nothin' but the space we're in
The hurry and the noise shut out
Just stay here and be right now
[Verse 2]
The shadows cling to the ceiling
And fracture the light
That lands in our eyes
Every moment changes the whole view
And just when it ends
I feel it again, again, again, again, again
[Chorus]
I don't wanna miss one thing
We can turn the whole world down
And listen to the in-between
We are, we are the sound
There's nothin' but the space we're in
The hurry and the noise shut out
Just stay here and be right now
[Bridge]
Nothin' else matters
Nothin' else matters
Nothin' else matters
Stay here and be right now
Nothin' else matters
Nothin' else matters
Nothin' else matters
Just stay here and be right now
[Chorus]
I don't wanna miss one thing
We can turn the whole world down
And listen to the in-between
We are, we are the sound
There's nothin' but the space we're in
The hurry and the noise shut out
Just stay here and be right now

I purposefully wrote this as a closing track. It felt like the end of the record, my family basically going back into our world. The album literally starts with you being slapped in the face with noise, and the album ends with a vocoder choir singing really gently and easing you out. I just liked it...
