This performance comes at the end of the film, when Tammy Bakker (Jessica Chastain) is invited to sing at Oral Roberts University after several years away from the church. After much trepidation, she appears in public again and sings for an appreciative crowd.
[Verse 1]
Mine eyes hath seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on
[Chorus]
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
His truth is marching on
[Verse 2]
I have read His fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel
As ye deal with My condemners, so with you, My grace shall deal
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel
Since God is marching on
Come on, people
Feel His miracle
[Chorus]
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
His truth is marching on
[Interlude]
Oh, how thankful I am for the amazing grace of God
'Cause without that beautiful grace I wouldn't even be here today
That grace that reached down and said, "Tammy Faye, I love you, and I love you just the way you are"
You know, God's grace is fishin' up for you today, too
And He loves you just the way you are
[Chorus]
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
His truth is marching on
Our God is marching on
[Outro]
Thank you, Lord, for the United States of America
We thank you, Lord, that we live in this wonderful country
God bless America
Hallelujah
Oh, yeah
