On a cool, blue night by the water's edge
All the others came to bathe
There were 12 of us, but only 2 of us
Not a person knew my name
What we shared was trust in each other
But we were cautious the whole night
Only I was real, and they couldn't feel
But I watched them as they tried

After dance became touch, we had drank too much
And our skin began to breathe
How we played, how we grew in the pool of the moon
Unaware that we'd conceived
