Early in the morning, our old rooster starts to crow
He struts about the barnyard, brock-a-doolin' high and low
He wakes me up quite early, so I rise up from my bed
I stretch and brush my teeth and shake the cobwebs from my head
To go around the house form room to room, I use my legs
I go down to the kitchen for my morning ham and eggs
I walk down to the barn to milk the cows and give them hay
And stop to feed the chickens at the hen house on the way
I go from house to barn, and the rooster, he goes too
The hens go bawk-bawk-bagawk, 'round the hen housе, like they do
The dog goеs woof, the cat, meow, and all the cows go moo
When everything gets going, it's a mighty fafaroo
While I go to the barn and start the tractor with a roar
I hitch up the old plow, then I drive it out the door
I drive out to the field and start to plow it row by row
So I can plant the seeds to make the crops all grow
I go to the barn and open every stall and pan
I herd the cows to pasture and I slop the pigs and then
I go back to the hen house to collect the daily eggs
Then I sit down on a bale of hay to rest my weary legs
I go to do my chores and the tractor, it goes too
The cows go to the pasture, and the sheep baa like they do
The pigs go oink, the chickens cluck, and the rooster, he clucks too
When everything gets going, it's a mighty fafaroo
Fafaroo!
