[Monologue]
So the first song on the album is called Anything But Lonely, and this song was conceived a couple of years before my time in the mountains began and I started writing it after I met this girl in the valley of LA at a place that I went to a lot in those days. And we had a very brief, short lived relationship, but I remember afterward I felt so lonely and lost. And I think this song is about putting on blinders to red flags that a relationship presents because you, you want it to work, you just need something or anything to not feel alone in the world. And I kinda let it be awhile and ended up finishing it in London shortly before we started the Narcissist sessions. And um, sonically I didn't want it to feel sad, I wanted to feel celebratory, I wanted it to feel like the night I met her, which was a very hot late summer, windows down, kind of valley, LA night, um and I knew if I could make it feel like that it would remind me of her. And, uh, I love the way this track feels sonically so we kicked the album off with it, so here is Anything But Lonely
