Dry Cleaning has shared a new song called “Anna Calls From the Arctic,” the latest single from their forthcoming LP Stumpwork, to be released 21 October 2022.
[Verse 1]
Should I propose friendship?
Flies going crazy
Wriggling and flipping
Emporio Armani builder
I see shit everywhere
Hustling
Deal making on the train
Anna calls from the Arctic
[Verse 2]
It's either scientists
Or people who are mining
Or dog sledge people
It's either scientists
Or people who are mining
Or dog sledge people
[Verse 3]
Say something
Keep trying
Take this and don't shrunk my things
No shrunking
If you're rich, you look good
That's not news
Hm, hm
Hm, hm, hm-mm
Hm
Hm, hm, hm-mm
[Verse 4]
Looks like strains and set backs are on the way
For my sad little worker
I cherish Dad's lamp!
Richness
By hand and machine
In other words
Dance bio, B. Manilow, birth swapped
I like it when
You can see inside houses
From a car it's cozy
Gym shorts reveal more, more, more, more, more
But it doesn't change anything
[Verse 5]
Sports indirect
So vague and formless
They called him, "Sensual Steve for a reason, of course
[Verse 6]
Nothing works
Everything's expensive
And opaque
And privatised
My shoe organising thing arrived
Thank God
I don't want to go on about it
But we're back in business
Just a sweet, natural start
We will flower

Florence Shaw:
I quite liked that the album opened with a question: ‘Should I propose friendship?’ In the outro, we were thinki...
