Angel, the final track on Songs For Ghosts, is a sort of spiritual successor to “The Day I Wanted to Die,” which is also the final track on Michael’s previous album “A Good Fool.” Both songs tackle the heavy topic of life and what comes after.
[Intro vocals]
[Verse 1]
Are you there?
Haven't heard from you in a while
Where's that smile?
Such a shame it's been gone for some time
[Pre-Chorus]
But I like just the way that I've lived
And its easy to get them to give
Not to say that I haven't sinned
But [??] has more of a ring
[Chorus]
'Cause I'm no angel baby
And I'm no angel baby
'Cause I'm no angel baby
What a bad boy
What a sad boy
[Verse 2]
I'm so old
What's the point if I can't have a life in the art?
Once we're born we begin just to die
[Pre-Chorus]
But I like just the way that I've livеd
And its easy to get them to givе
Not to say that I haven't sinned
But [??] has more of a ring
[Chorus]
'Cause I'm no angel baby
And I'm no angel baby
'Cause I'm no angel baby
What a bad boy
What a sad boy
