When I found out Parasol wanted to release a single for us I was so happy and knew which tracks I'd choose. The hard part was the cover design. I tried out pictures of Mike Nesmith, Kollontai, Truffaut, of all my heroes but it didn't seem right. Also, what do I title it? Is it pretentious having a title for a 2-track single? Finally, I chose to name it after the B side and have her on the cover (again). Well, it wasn't really much of a choice. I had to. Just as I had to release our first single last year and I had to record 19 songs for an album which may nеver see the light of day. Money may rulе my body but I refuse to let it rule my heart. Only one does that. Half of me is hoping she never sees this single and the other is praying for her to. In a very small way, White Town is now very successful. I never thought we would be. Could it be that if you do what you believe in and ignore the music press, major (and "indie") labels and all the other champions of rampant mediocrity that, gulp, it might work? Who knows? Start a band, set up a label, write a fanzine. At least try! Maybe you'll end up a successful failure like us
Maybe one day I'll be able to stop writing songs. But I still dream about her
Love and kisses, Jyoti
