After She Gave Me the Sea

I would like to finish on an optimistic note
Because... I am sat here
And... All of you are sat here
And every single one of us chose to get up this morning
And do the day
And every time you do that
When you make that decision
It's an affirmation of the value of living
And it's affirmation not just for yourself
But it's an affirmation for the people around you
Of the value of living

And, um
Something that I realized as well
It's that
Every time you reach out to someone else
And share something of yourself
It's an affirmation for that person and their value of living too
It's like
What better feeling than being the kind of friend that someone could call and talk to
Do you know what I mean?
And it's these soft points in ourselves that become the points of communication between humans
This is how we get to love each other
I mean—
And this a note to self more than anything, right
This is what I need to remember
