A Chapter Ends

A chapter closes in my book of days
So many memories in a smoky haze
Happiness danced and sadness would stay
But now I’m chasing the sun’s golden rays

Moments that built me brick by brick
Some fell apart but some still stick
Tears and smiles wrote my part
Each one a lesson deep in my heart

I’m turning the page I’m letting it go
Moving towards a place I don’t yet know
Happiness waits where the wild winds blow
I’m writing my story I’m letting it show

The laughter echoed through years gone by
The heartbreak whispered in a quiet sigh
But I’m standing tall as the rain dries
Forward I walk beneath endless skies

No looking back no holding tight
The road ahead is my guiding light
The past shaped me but can’t define
The future calls and it’s mine all mine

Goodbye to shadows that weigh me down
I’m lifting off leaving this old town
A new sun rises my soul is sound
To happiness I’m finally bound
