But, what a turn of events

So I, turned to the next, pressed the burden on them
She's emersed
Usually, I'd be the first to defend
But, I'm showing no concern, it's a trend
Tables turn
I'm pulling out, we had a date confirmed
But to me, that's a mistake I earned
It aches it burns
Got a second degree like I paid to learn
Should be letting it be, cause it makes me worse
I should be setting her free from the chains and curse
But she's no better than me, what's the safety word?
