20s.

In my 20s and I don’t wanna be
Surviving on caffeine and therapy
Everyone says everything heard before
Lately I don’t wanna be me anymore

In my 20s and everyone has shit to say
I want their stupid faces to go away
Cuz “it’s time to grow up and be a job”
Contribute to society or be a slob
There’s no in between
Not for you or for me
Work til you die
Or struggle to finance life
Working minimum wage
To be yelled at by someone who’s 65

I’m so tired of the same old shit
Trying to fix things that don’t need to be fixed
Everyone says I’m too sensitive
And that I need to be tough
And if I’m being honest
I’d say they aren’t sensitive enough

They say Gen Z has it easier than the rest
When most of us are fucking depressed
You push us til you push us over the edge
Acting shocked when you saw us on the ledge

In my 20s, and I don’t wanna be an idle teen anymore
Being a teenager was a bore
It’s overrated, I hate it, I’m done
Now I can’t wait til I turn 21
