ACT I

A black screen. Silence. The sounds of a busy subway station are fading in. Footsteps and voices can be heard.

CUT TO:

A sign which reads "14 St". Various citizens walk by. The character in focus wears quite intriguing clothing; a brown leather jacket, vibrant, pastel, turquoise green cargos as well as black Timbs. He wears a North Face backpack and something can be seen in the bag's left side pocket. He walks out of view behind a pillar.

CUT TO BLACK

CUT TO:

INT. SUBWAY STATION

The side view of a bench. No one seems to be sitting on it. A bag drops nearby the bench - there is a PlayStation controller in one of it's pockets and a character's feet brush past into view. A-ROD sits down. He's frustrated - he's had a long day. You can tell. He holds his shoulders heavy and releases a sigh as he collapses onto the bench. It's been a LONG damn day. He looks up at a nearby sign. It is for the New York City Uptown & Queens E train, reading: "Queens Blvd Express to Jamaica Center". Is this his destination?
He slowly pulls his view away, he seems unsure of his current decisions. The camera then begins to cut consecutively, suggesting the passing of time. His view meets the eye of the camera. He stares at us.

CUT TO BLACK

A-ROD is about to speak in cadence, the camera cutting at it's leisure to fit his tone. It captures his hand movements, his eyes, his lips, his feet - every speck of detail. A subliminal message quickly flashes upon the screen.

CUT TO:

INT. SUBWAY STATION - CONTINUOUS ACTION

A-ROD's montage is now presented.

[A-ROD]
Just wait on it.
Wait on 'til you get tired of waiting,
Then lay on it.
Let it stay on your mind,
Be the prey of your hunger,
Then play with the order.
Play with the words,
I swear that you'll never get bored of it,
Once you hear it all, yeah.
Get ready to ride 'cuz I'm coming.
All you dirty minds need to just stop it.
Brown and crowned,
And pushed around,
Keep trucking on 'til I am rusted.
Terrible luck...
Got an ambition and pheromone crush.
They keep questioning whether,
I'm putting on or I'm putting up,
Seems like none of my answers are good enough.

He takes a breather. This seemed to be a simple vent session for himself. He suddenly looks over his right shoulder. Once more, looking directly at the camera, he raises a brow.

[A-ROD] (CONT'D)
What?

The camera switches to what he's looking at. It's a small statue. CORDUROY. He sits on the bench solemnly, holding a bag with a dollar insignia on it's front. He seems sad; confused; like he's waiting for something - just as many of us are. CORDUROY stares straight into the camera, right back at A-ROD. The camera cuts back to A-Rod. He smiles turning and facing forward. A train begins to arrive shortly thereafter.

WIDESHOT OF – A-ROD AND CORDUROY

The two characters sit on the bench alone. No one else in the station. A Puerto Rican flag sits next to A-ROD. This is the mixtape cover.

Whether from awe or happiness, CORDUROY continues to look in A-ROD's direction. It is hard to tell whether he is staring directly at A-ROD (in astonishment) or would perhaps be staring at the E train's exit point (forever watching the train leave rather than arrive, therefore repeatedly ending up alone) instead of it's entrance area (witnessing something enter his life).

(NOTE: This should be importantly brought to attention due to the mixtape's cover and back art.)

A-ROD looks toward the oncoming train while CORDUROY keeps his eyes on the exit point. A-ROD watches the train pull into the station and come to a stop.

FADE TO BLACK

Sounds of the train's stop and arrival are heard.

FADE FROM BLACK

WIDESHOT OF – A-ROD AND CORDUROY

A-ROD sits next to CORDUROY looking on at the train.

[E-TRAIN ANNOUNCER] (V.O.)
Stand clear of the closing doors please.

A-ROD stares. He tilts his head. The train bell rings. The screen closes inward. The purpose of the teaser is revealed. It is a promotional for the upcoming debut mixtape/LP, Magnificent.

SUPERIMPOSE: "Magnificent {underlined}"
"5.25.15 {directly underneath}"

The screen blacks. The train is heard leaving.
