Meiko Kaji was born Masako Ohta in Tokyo in 1947. She is best known for her acting efforts from the early 1970s, starring as outlaws in the Stray Cat Rock series, the two Lady Snowblood films, and several movies by Kinji Fukasaku. She frequently sang songs for these films as well, which led to a revival of her music career in the mid-2000s when Quentin Tarantino used two of her songs in the Kill Bill movies.
