Vassendgutane is a country band from Åmdalen in Ørsta in Møre og Romsdal fylke in Norway. With humoristic lyrics in dialect, Vassendgutane has exprerienced great commercial success.

The band was established in 1996 by Sindre Aam (Songwriter, bass, vocalist), Arthur Johan Bjørdal (Songwriter, guitar, vocalist), Rune Brautaset (Guitar, vocalist), Ernst Brune (Accordion), Lars Egil Vågseter (Steelguitar), Henning Aarsæther (Drums), and Jan Ove Hovdenakk (Electric guitar). Vassendgutane was heavily inspired by Teddy Nelson, and when Vassendgutane released their debut album Pylse & Konjakk in 2000, only 4 of their songs were written by themselves, 4 by Teddy Nelson and 1 by Ivar Medaas.

Their second album Gi Clutch (2002), all of the songs were self-written, and Vassendgutane grew from a local phenomenon to national heroes. In 2005, they released their third album Ungkar Med Dobbelseng, and their title song and Granada, became a hit throughout the whole country. The album sold well, and was on the VG-list for three weeks.

The fourth album XO (2008), was finally their big national breakthrough, and the album was on the top of the VG-list for two weeks. In 2010 they released Julefest i vest (2010), which was a joint album with friends. In 2011 they released the album Riskrem & Entrekått, which also did really well. Album number 7, Festi Ekje Slutt (2012) which was a compilation album of their best hits, which also involved 4 new songs. They have since released the albums Hesteslepp (2013), Skru Opp! (2015) and Du & Ej & Metoo (2018). They have also released 5 singles, Skaldyrfest (2019), Sånn So Det Va Før (2019), Hurragutt (2020), Longt Inne I En Fjord (2021) and Skrekkraude Rapala (2022). Vassendgutane has all together sold over 300 000 discs.

Vassendgutane has also released 3 dvd’s, with concert recordings; Live fra Rockefeller (2007), Live Treungen (2010) and Live 20 år: Seljord (2016).

Since the start, have several band members left and others have joined. The band now consists of, Aam, Bjørdal, Brautaset, Brune, Vågseter, Kim Erik Lillestøl (Drums), Frank Willy Utgård (Electric guitar), Alf Rune Melby (Steelguitar).
