Uffie (real name Anna-Catherine Hartley) was born in 1987 to a Japanese mother and a British father. She grew up in Hong Kong and Paris, and began rapping as “Uffie” when her then-boyfriend Feadz, begged her to write lyrics for what would become her first single and best known song, Pop The Glock, which was released in 2006.
Over the next four years, she got married and had two children, collaborating with other French artists such as Justice and Mr. Oizo. She released her first and only album, Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans, in June 2010.
After a seven-year hiatus, she appeared on Charli XCX’s critically acclaimed Number 1 Angel mixtape, followed in 2018 with comeback single “Drugs.”
On February 22, 2019, she released a full-length EP, Tokyo Love Hotel with several new songs, including “Drugs.”
