Sloppy Jane is an 11-person avant-rock band based in Brooklyn. The band was founded by lead singer, Haley Dahl, at age 15, and has since went through a vast rotation of different supporting artists, notably Phoebe Bridgers.
The band has released 4 albums so far, including Burger Radio (2014), Totally Limbless (2014), Sure-Tuff (2015), and Willow (2018)
Sloppy Jane was heavily inspired by artists like “Marilyn Manson” and “Hole”, and the band reflects that with a very raw, unfiltered sound full of dissonant guitars and frantic-sounding lyrics. Haley Dahls identity as a sex worker has also bled its way into her music, featuring themes of the sexual abuse she’s experienced as a dancer as a strip club and fully naked performances featuring a blue “vomit” substance she throws up onto herself during concerts.
Sloppy Jane is currently working on an album recorded entirely within a West Virginia Cave. A date has not been confirmed for this album’s release.
