About Rostam

Rostam Batmanglij (born November 28, 1983 in Washington, D.C.), known mononymously as Rostam, is an American songwriter, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist formerly of New York City-based indie rock band Vampire Weekend and electro-soul group Discovery.

He’s also known for his work with artists like Charli XCX, Carly Rae Jepsen, Solange, Santigold, Frank Ocean, and Jenny Lewis.

Since leaving Vampire Weekend, Rostam has still released music, dropping several singles. In 2016 he released a collaborative album with Hamilton Leithauser, titled I Had A Dream That You Were Mine. In 2017 he released his debut album Half-Light.
