Ray started his career out independently releasing his first album Idle after which Top Dawg Entertainment publically announced on August 25, 2021 the signing of Ray Vaughn, who has been signed on the TDE roster since 2020
To coincide with the announcement of Vaughn joining the TDE family, the label also shared his new three-song 8-minute EP Peer Pressure.
