About Orbiting Human Circus

Orbiting Human Circus is led by Julian Koster (Neutral Milk Hotel, The Music Tapes, Chocolate USA).

The “Quartet” consists of Julian Koster (vocals), Gauvain Gamon (standup bass), Kolja Gjoni (drums), and Benji Miller (piano). Singing saws named North and Romika are referred to as ‘plus twos’ to the quartet. The group also worked with Thomas Hughes and Robbie Cucchiaro, long time collaborators of Koster’s.

Koster met Gamon and Gjoni when he happened upon the pair playing Gershwin and Mingus in Central Park, New York.

Under this moniker Koster has also released a narrative fiction podcast ‘The Orbiting Human Circus of the Air’.
