Mashrou' Leila is a Lebanese alternative rock band formed in Beirut in 2008 with a wide variety of songs from melancholic ballads to contemporary alternative Arabic music.
It is a five-piece band, composed of Hamed Sinno on vocals, Haig Papazian on violin, Carl Gerges on drums, Ibrahim Badr on bass guitar, and Firas Abu-Fakhr on guitar and keys.
Their music frequently speaks about topics such as LGBT rights, religion, race, and modern Arabic identity, which challenges the status quo of the modern Middle-Eastern pop industry.
They have self-released four studio albums to date.
