Kmac2021 is the stage name and YouTube handle of Scottish musician Kieran McLaughlin, who has also released music under the name thenightyouleft. He gained viral fame in 2017 for his YouTube videos “When you bought an 8 string but the only song you know is Basket Case by Green Day” and “When you love The Beatles but also love Death Metal”, both of which amassed several million views. Since then, he has regularly uploaded both comedic and serious content to his YouTube channel, his original music being among his serious content. Long before his YouTube channel took off, he had been making original music on his SoundCloud, and had also been a member of the metal bands Colma and Descension.
