Jennette McCurdy, born as Jennette Michelle Faye McCurdy on June 26, 1992, in Long Beach, California, is an American actress, singer, director, YouTuber, and writer most known for portraying the character Sam Puckett in the Nickelodeon series iCarly, as well as on the iCarly and VICTORiOUS spinoff Sam & Cat.
After independently releasing her debut single “So Close” in March 2009, McCurdy signed to Capitol Records Nashville in June 2009.
One year later, in May of 2010, her debut radio single Not That Far Away, and an extended play of the same name was released to digital stores in August that same year.
In January of 2012, her second self-titled extended play released exclusively in Justice stores. Its lead and only single “Generation Love” became her best performing song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
