British artist HAZY was born in Hong Kong and hails from a small village in England. Trying his hand at Melodic Hip-Hip, he’ll branch out on 15th June with ‘6 hearts’. Taking inspiration from Trippie Redd & Yung Lean.
HAZY’s style of writing emerged on his fragile and old family piano, suiting his honest lyrics well. His production style is eclectic & was developed whilst listening to artists like Mura Masa & Gorillaz. Launching his career with Dragonfly and developing his sound since 2015, he has carved a truly unique style from the ground up.
BBC introducing recently spun his EP STUCK. Prior to this, BBC Radio Jersey, BBC introducing in the East and BBC Three Counties supported ‘Sinking Down’, commending HAZY as an “Incredible artist” (BBC Radio Jersey) and “Pop perfection” (Jim Gellatly – Amazing Radio). Swimming Closer also achieved multiple national in-store plays at the Co-op, gained support from the likes of CLOUT, Barely Listening and was used to broadcast the CommonWealth Games.
Notable gigs include providing ‘stellar support’ for Porches, headlining Gullivers in Manchester with support from one of NME’s essential artists, Lucy Deakin, collaborations with Amazing Radio at Band On The Wall with Shell Zenner and recently supporting kyd blu who has become an integral part of the alt-pop community in Manchester.
