Guster is an alternative rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. Often noted by the use of pleasing vocal harmonies, instrument choice (notably bongo drums), and off-beat sense of humor, Guster’s sound stretches from acoustic folk to pop-rock.
They were formed in 1991, by Adam Gardner, Ryan Miller, and Brian Rosenworcel who met during freshman orientation at Tufts University.
The group was originally named Gus and independently released their first album Parachute in 1994, while still going to college. The band had to change their name shortly after the album release due to a singer named Gus (Now Gus Black) being signed to a record label.
Throughout their career, they have worked with Barenaked Ladies, John Mayer, Rogue Wave, Ben Folds, Ben Kweller, and many others through touring and songwriting.
