About Fenix TX

Formed in 1995 initially as Riverfenix, the band signed to Drive-Thru Records and released their first self-titled album in 1997, which quickly ran out of print after three runs of 5,000 copies each. That CD would later catch the attention of blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, who eventually became their manager and helped the band get signed to MCA. With this new record deal, the band re-recorded the majority of their eponymous album (under their new name after a cease and desist from River Fenix’s estate), which would be released in 1999 with the single “All My Fault”. The album and single made it to the Billboard charts and the band toured numerously. In 2001, Lechuza was released and debuted at no. 7 on the Billboard, and shortly after, the band dissolved, before reuniting in 2005.
