Dee Dee King, better known as Dee Dee Ramone, was member of new york punk-rock band Ramones, one of the very few bands that are responsible for birth of punk itself. Dee Dee was main songwriter in the band; although he was bassist and rarely ever sang, he wrote lyrics and music for most of the Ramones songs.
In late 80’s Dee Dee kinda got bored of playing punk and decided to try what he could do in a rap world; he immediately changed his name to Dee Dee King and released one album Standing in the Spotlight. Later he had several projects like Dee Dee Ramone and the Chinese Dragons, Dee Dee Ramone I.C.L.C., Youth Gone Mad; he started playing punk again. His last (fourth) solo album was Hop Around, released in 2000.
