Alice Merton is a German-Canadian singer born September 13, 1993, in Frankfurt, Germany. She has a German mother and a Irish father.

Her debut EP No Roots, including her hit single of the same name, was released on February 3, 2017. The EP was re-released the following year, to include her next single, “Lash Out.”

On January 18, 2019, Merton released her debut album, MINT, preceded by the singles “Why So Serious” and “Funny Business.”
