Alexandra Porat, known as simply Alex Porat, was born on January 9, 1998, in Toronto Canada, and born from a Malaysian-born-Chinese mother and Polish father, thus making her Chinese-Polish in descent.

Porat is a singer-songwriter who grew up with a love for music and was encouraged to explore her creativity. As a result, she spent her childhood singing karaoke, in choirs, and lining up for TV auditions. Eventually, she would start uploading covers on her YouTube channel in 2010, though her first upload wouldn’t be until 2017, with her cover of “It Ain’t Me” originally by Kygo and Selena Gomez.

Despite struggling with her biracial identity, she has now come to terms with it, embracing herself and one day hopes to collaborate with artists in 88Rising, specifically fellow mixed-raced artists such as Conan Gray and Joji.
