Water is a polar molecule: two (2) hydrogens bonded to an oxygen. So, it contains hydrogen bonding; which, I don’t know if you know what that is — but it’s when a hydrogen atom is covalently bonded to an electronegative atom — oxygen is electronegative…. And because oxygen is electronegative, there is, like, a dipole moment in the molecule, which makes it polar. Ummm… (Ummm...) water can act as an acid and a base in certain reactions.
