The snow it hits the ground
And turns to ash and dust
And the rivers can no longer freeze
Due to chemicals and rust
And the snow it turns to brown
For the streets they teem with heat
And the fires underground choke out the air
So I can't breathe
It is unavoidable now
We forget the truth somehow
Forget all the lies they say
It will be alright today
As the cloud rises up into the sky
Taking years right off my life
This cancer grows so slow
Its a killer without remorse
It took away my family
And it strays me from my course
I visit them on dark-sky day
In a cold fenced field they lie
I blame the reactor that melted down
In March of '79
It is unavoidable now
We forget the truth somehow
