Life was simple then, back in the old days
Seems like another world, and so long ago
I’d skip down Corinthian Avenue, & then along Doric Road
Past the Gordon Keeble, I made my way from school
To my humble abode
Upwardly mobile
In my ‘hand me downs’

Then off to High school, in over my head
Though I’d fall in love every day
It was Radio Caroline, I took to bed
The Dansette played ‘Love Me Do’ & ‘The Tears of a Clown’
