Restless awake in Winters bed
Hope is waiting to be lead
In silence and love bound
In the shelter of the ground
And such beauty in surround

They never knew
What they had found
So long have lain
And once again

The aching fury of the skies
The emptiness behind their eyes
The waiting black hole

Like a seething sore
From the melting core
And the pale underbelly
She was loved by so many
And I don’t feel
What can’t be real
Not to abstain
But go again
Through need or greed
We'll just bleed it dry
Then stick a needle in its eye
Then hang it out
And watch it die

This city sweats
In its sickly hue
And here lies best
For the fortune few
And it won’t be long
Before we’re gone
This never ending
This right from wrong
Through black and smog
And the choking fog
With their needles and knives
And their wasted lives
Well we’re just waiting
For the rain
