Mango lassi poetry
Right now I’m in absolutely no hurry
Ice on the slopes is as likely as coming to a conclusion on which we both agree
Ball in my hands and I drop it in the basket like I’m shopping for these groceries
A weekly affair like tossing and turning in my bed like the rolling sea
Tryna force myself to sleep on an early Sunday night to wake up tomorrow morning
This a weekly affair like turning up on a Friday or Saturday tryna perform a heroic deed
To hopefully show that I’ve got some of that GOAT in me
But almost always my plans don’t go down the way I hope they’d meet
I’ve sowed the seeds but I’m restless waiting for them to grow into trees
Thoughts of uncertainty on what I’m going to be in life is what is beholding me
As I’m tryna give myself space to ponder deep on these
I gotta deal with the weight of responsibilities they offering me
All I think is how can I not fill these
‘Cause these opportunities don’t come often you see
They need to be taken if I wanna get to the position that I want to be
That cap of ice the wannabe in me longs to reach
Can’t afford to stop in my stride, gotta keep hopping along like a wallaby
A rocky ride, got me spilling my mango lassi, might end up turning into a Wallaby
But there’s no chance of that with my closed eyes, my vision’s all black
Hope I somehow fall asleep, and get lost again amongst my dreams
