The song consists of the samples from the “A Trip Round Acid House” episode of the british programme called “World in Action” https://youtu.be/gVUhRgWBXKo, including the lines from the 20 years old Paul Hartnoll himself
Saturday night in South London
Hundreds of young people are gathering for the latest craze
An acid house party in a disused warehouse
Coaches will take them to a destination which is deliberate kept secret to avoid the police
Wait, where you think you're going to?
- Must be told. We don't know, it's like mistery (that's the mistery of acid)
-This is Acid, man
This is Acid, maaaaaaaaan....
But it was only a party in a peaceful setting of Sevenoaks in Kent
Which led to the most controversial policing so far
A raid on an Acid House party ended in violence and led to over 20 formal complains against the police
At midnight about 60 policeman arrived, a group of them burst into search for drugs
It was alleged but none of the group were in police uniform
The first thing I saw, well, what I prepared to be was a bunch of hooligans coming charging through the door
With big black sticks flailing in the air shouting: "Get on the f-ing floor you lowlifes!"
-The people, that didn't get on the floor immediately were just beaten on the floor, beaten to the floor
It was incredible, incredibly mindless violence
-They were beating me as they took now, they weren't just roughly handling me and any other policeman
That passed on the way, were taking a good sort of potluck punch of me aswell
-They were manic in there, it just terrified me and everybody who was there was really frightened
Wait, where you think you're going to?
- Must be told. We don't know, it's like mistery (that's the mistery of acid)
-This is Acid, man. This is Acid...
This is Acid, man. This is Acid (repeated)
30-Something years later...
