Zoë Johnston is a singer songwriter based in the UK. She is mostly known for working with the highly successful trance/EDM band Above & Beyond, having co-written songs with them since 2004. Their collaborations include singles “Love Is Not Enough”, “Alchemy”, “You Got To Go”, “We’re All We Need” and “My Own Hymn”.
Her debut solo album ‘Happenstances’ (released in 2005) features the song ‘Crazy English Summer’ which was later adapted in a collaboration with Faithless and included on their third album, ‘Outrospective’. Zoë toured the world promoting this album for 18 months, performing on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury and singing to up to 90,000 people on the festival circuit as well as at multiple different venues. She initially connected with Above & Beyond through her cousin Roland, who went to school with Above & Beyond member Jono Grant. Their first collaboration was ‘No One On Earth’ in 2004.
To date (March 2023), Zoë has been involved in 18 collaborations with Above & Beyond. She was nominated in the Best Dance/Electronic Record category for the 58th Grammy Awards with ‘We’re All We Need’ (a song which to date has been streamed over 35,000,000 times worldwide). She has also toured with Above & Beyond on the Acoustic I & II projects, performing in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Sydney Opera House and the Hollywood Bowl.
She released her second solo album, Come Back Once More, in 2023.
