Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano are a Brazilian Sertanejo duo formed in 1991, by the brothers Mirosmar José Camargo (Zezé) and Welson David Luciano Fonseca Camargo (Luciano), one of the most sucessful acts in brazilian music industry, with 2 Latin Grammy Awards and many platinum albums.
The duo is one of the main references to the current Sertanejo generation of artists, helping to shape the “Sertanejo Romântico” genre in the 90’s along with Chitãozinho & Xororó, Leandro & Leonardo and Jõao Paulo & Daniel, the genre mixed some Rock and Pop Power Ballads elements with some of the Sertanejo and caipira genres, which are resemblants of country and folk.
Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano’s biggest hits are found in the 90’s, from 1991 to 1999, with one album per year, they released many #1 hits and soundtracks to popular brazilian soap operas on TV.
Zezé is known for his crystal clear high pitched voice that could reach extremely high notes with precision and melody, but in 2004 Zezé had a health problem with his voice, and it has changed a lot since then, having a now rougher sound, they still release albums and hit singles
