ZARD (ザード) is a well-known rock band that has ceased activities in Japan. Their lead singer is Izumi Sakai (坂井泉水) and belonged to B-Gram RECORDS under Being, Inc.
Their best-known songs are “Makenaide (負けないで)”, “Yureru Omoi (揺れる想い)”, and “運命のルーレット廻して (Unmei no Roulette Mawashite)”. As of 2014, ZARD has sold over 37 million records, making them one of the best-selling music artists in Japan. ZARD disbanded after main vocalist Izumi Sakai’s death.
